Dr. Tami Benton is the Psychiatrist-in-Chief and Chair at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and an Associate Professor in Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine–University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Benton’s leadership roles at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia also include secretary for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Physician Practice Association (CHOPPA), member of the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff, and Director for the Child and Adolescent Mood clinical and research program for youths with depression and bipolar disorders.
Dr. Benton has previously served as the Director of Education for the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and has served in national educational leadership roles. Prior to joining CHOP, Dr. Benton was on the staff of Children’s Memorial Hospital at Northwestern University, and held positions as Director of Child Inpatient Psychiatry Program, Director of Child Day Treatment Program, and as a pediatrician for children with chronic illness.
Dr. Benton is the recipient of numerous awards for her outstanding teaching from the University of Pennsylvania and Northwestern University Medical School, and received the Blockley Osler Award for Outstanding Bedside Teaching and the Elizabeth B. Weller Award for Teaching at the Perelman School of Medicine – University of Pennsylvania and the Joseph Cramer Award from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Benton was recently awarded The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Community Impact Award for contributions to Philadelphia’s suicide prevention efforts. She now serves on the City of Philadelphia’s Suicide Prevention Task Force Steering Committee and chairs the Youth Suicide Prevention Task Force.
Her professional activities include leadership positions and/or memberships in the American Academy of Pediatrics (Fellow); the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry; the American Psychiatric Association; the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; the Devereux Foundation; the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH); and the National Medical Association. In addition to serving on committees and task forces at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Benton serves as Secretary-elect of the Executive Committee at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and co-chairs the HIV Issues Committee. Dr. Benton is a Board of Trustees and Executive Committee member at the Devereux Foundation. She is also on the editorial board of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Current Psychiatry Reports. Dr. Benton was recently appointed to serve on the National Advisory Mental Health Council at the National Institutes of Mental Health and the American Psychiatric
Association Council on Research.
Dr. Benton’s research efforts have focused upon chronic medical conditions and depression in sickle cell disease and HIV disease, and neuroimmune mechanisms of depression.

Dr. Reham Aly received M.B.B.Ch. from Cairo University, employed as a resident psychiatry on 2001 at Ministry of Health Mental Hospital (Abasseya). She received in 2004 Diploma of Psychiatric Practicing- DPP from Kings College in association with Ain Shams University, Cairo. After which she received her M.SC. in Neuro-Psychiatry from Ain Shams University, Cairo 2006. Dr. Aly completed her residency program then & was declared a specialist in the field of Psychiatry. Dr. Aly has also applied for the Arab Fellowship of Psychiatry on 2006 & completed it successfully on 2008.
In 2011 Dr. Aly presented thesis “Internet-Delivered CBT for Anxiety disorders” in submission of MD. (PhD.) degree. She has also completed the diplomate status from the Academy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (a.k.a. Beck’s Institute) & was declared the first Egyptian fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy on 2011. After which Dr. Aly was dedicated to the training & continuous education field for professionals working with the Ministry of Health & Population (Mental health division). She was assigned the Director of the training & continuous education department to Abasseya Hospital of Mental Health. On 2013 Dr. Aly has been assigned the Director of Training & Continuous Education of the General Secretariat of Mental Health, Egypt.
On 2011; the need for an Egyptian Association for CBT has issued. Many therapists & psychiatrists requested education & training in this field but was obstacle with either travelling abroad issues or language barriers. Headed & honored by many of Egyptian pillars of psychiatry the Egyptian Association of CBT (www.EACBT.org) was initiated in 2013. Accordingly, Dr. Aly was assigned President of the EACBT.
On 2013 Dr. Aly graduated from Hospital Management Diploma, American University of Cairo & on 2015 she completed her Diploma of Health Economics; York University, United Kingdom.

I moved to the Kingdom of Bahrain in 1988 & joined the Ministry of Health as a Consultant Psychiatrist till date. Participated actively with collogues in developing mental health services in Bahrain tailored to the British system.
Joined the Arabian Gulf University from 1987 till 2007 as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry.
Joined the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland –Medical University of Bahrain from 2008 as an Associate Professor and head of department of psychiatry till date.
Coordinator between Ministry of Health in Bahrain and the Royal College of surgeons in Ireland for the diploma of psychological medicine from 1994 till 2000 Where Twenty primary health care doctors attended an intensive clinical course and examined by a team of Professors from Dublin & Bahrain for early detection of psychiatric problems in primary care sector in Bahrain.
Chairperson of the organization committee for four conferences of Psychiatry in Bahrain in association with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK in 199, the World Psychiatric Association 1996, Pan Arab congress in psychiatry in 2000 & the Arabian gulf psychiatric association as a subdivision of the World Psychiatric Association. Attended in Japan as representative of The Arab Gulf Psychiatric Association in 2002.
Advisory committee of the Mental health in Bahrain from 1990 till 2005 as vice president. Also the psychiatric section of Bahrain Medical society. Developed the Bahrain association for friends of psychiatric patients .
