Dr. Jamal Al-Jubeh

Dr. Jamal Al Jubeh is consultant pediatric endocrinologist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, UAE since 2006.  He is currently the Chairman of Seha Pediatric council.  He served as the Chairman of Pediatrics at SKMC 2013 -2020. 

He graduated from the medical school at the University of Jordan then completed his training in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, USA.  He is American Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology.   He worked as a consultant pediatric endocrinologist at Saudi Aramco Dhahran medical center until 2006.

He has several publications in peer reviewed journals and many presentations in regional meetings. He is core faculty in the pediatric residency program at SKMC and active member of several societies in the field of pediatric endocrinology and diabetes.

Dr. Tilman Rohrer

Tilman R. Rohrer is a pediatric endocrinologist trained in Germany and Switzerland. A senior lecturer since 2008, Dr. Rohrer was appointed professor of pediatrics at Saarland University Medical Center, Homburg/Saar, Germany, in 2011, where he has headed the Division of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes with its outpatient clinics since 2002.

His clinical research interests include growth disorders, tumor endocrinology, diabetes, and genetic syndromes, including Down syndrome, Turner syndrome, and Noonan syndrome.

Dr. Rohrer also specializes in pediatric ultrasonography. He is a member of numerous international and national professional societies and serves on several journal editorial boards.

Dr. Walid Kaplan

Dr. Kaplan is a Consultant Pediatric Endocrinology at Tawam Hospital/Johns Hopkins Medicine International, and the Acting Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics. He previously held the positions of Interim Chief Medical Officer, and Acting Chief Quality Officer, Tawam Hospital, and Assistant Professor Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston, Texas.

Dr. Kaplan received his MD from Damascus, Syria, completed his pediatric residency at Michigan State University, and sub-specialty training in Pediatric Endocrinology at Baylor College of Medicine Houston, Texas. He is American Board-certified in Pediatric Endocrinology.

Dr. Kaplan has practiced in the US for many years, he is currently involved in full clinical and teaching responsibilities at Tawam Hospital and the School of Medicine, UAE University. His research interests include diabetes and Ramadan, growth disorders, and calcium and bone mineralization disorders. He has published widely in these areas and given oral and poster presentations at many regional and international meetings.

Dr. Kaplan has received several awards for outstanding achievement, such as Certificates of Excellence from Port Arthur Community Health Center, Texas in 2000, National Diabetes Guidelines Appreciation Award by UAE Ministry of Health in 2009, listed among America’s Top Pediatricians in 2010, and award for invaluable services in the field of diabetes and endocrinology from The Gulf Medical University in 2014.

Dr. Asma Deeb

Prof. Deeb is the president of the Arab Society of Paediatric Endocrinology. She is the Chair of research ethics committee at the SSMC and a clinical professor at the Gulf University and Khalifa University, UAE.

She is an executive board member at the Global Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (GPED) and the International Consortium of the European Society of Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE)
