Call For Abstract

Abstract Submission

Submit an abstract in English. The word limits are: minimum 150 words and maximum 300 words.

The deadline to submit your abstract is August, 15th 2022. You will be notified by September, 01st 202022 about the acceptance for poster presentation.

The registration fee allows for the submission of one abstract without cost; there is a fee of $10 for each additional abstract.

Please note that, in order finalize the scientific program in due time, only the abstracts from completed registrations will be included in the program. The final deadline for authors to complete their registration to attend the IST2022 and cover their work presentation is September, 20th 2022 (Covering Author Registration Deadline). The abstracts of authors whose registration has not been completed and the relevant fees paid by this date, will be withdrawn from the conference program.

Poster Information

Maximum poster size: 0.90 m width x 1.20 m height.

Students who submit a poster will be judged by a team predominantly comprised of peers and awards will be given to the five top poster presentations. Also, from the posters, approximately 20 students will be chosen for short oral presentations on Wednesday. Students who have posters and wish to be considered for an oral presentation as well should come prepared to give a presentation of 10 minutes (5-10 slides). The time for each talk will be strictly administered. Awards will also be made to the three best oral presentations.


The abstracts of the 21st IST World Congress will be published in an issue of Toxicon.

Toxicon is the official journal of the IST and is currently published for the IST by Elsevier. At present, due to increasing demand, Toxicon now publishes 16 issues per year, in 2 volumes. The international ranking of Toxicon is steadilly rising, reflecting the large number of quality papers, covering a diversity of toxins, published in the journal. Currently over 30,000 papers are downloaded from Toxicon monthly. The publisher on behalf of the IST, Elsevier, have a dedicated website (http://www.journals.elsevier.com/toxicon/) for Toxicon.
